Recycled DIY Valentine’s Day Cards!

You don’t have to spend lots of money on supplies for Valentine’s Day. We made these adorable cards using materials found around the house. From old Christmas cards, to brown paper bags- you won’t believe how easy it is to turn trash into treasure! Plus, these valentines are cute and simple enough to give out to your child’s class!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 Brown paper bag
  • A couple of old Christmas cards
  • 1 Square doily
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Pens or markers for writing in the card

First, cut one of the Christmas cards in half.

Take the half that has a blank back and fold it in half, so that the picture is on the outside and the blank side is inside.

Next, cut out a piece of the brown bag the same size as your card, and fold in half.

Glue the Christmas card to the inside of the brown paper.

Fold the doily in quarters, and cut off the corner.

Glue the four corners of doily to the corners of your card.

Now cut out a few hearts from the Christmas cards.

Glue hearts to the center of your card.

Now just write a cute message on the inside and you’re done!

Use the rest of your paper bag and cards to make even more valentines. You can even use different parts of the same doily to trim your other cards- get creative!
